Rescue Dogs 101

Congratulations!! You’re wonderful to welcome a homeless dog into your heart and home. There’s no greater feeling is there? Some rescues are well behaved, have some (or a lot) of training and just need a refresher course and time to get used to the routine you’ve created. Others have been through a lot, and have the behavior issues that go along with coming from an abusive or traumatic background. Whatever life your dog had before, his new one starts now.

Here are some of the topics we’ll discuss:

  • Creating a routine
  • Preparing your home for the new arrival
  • What to expect during the first few days/weeks/months
  • Developing trust
  • Common behaviors you may see, and how to deal with them
  • Training – we will tailor it depending on what your dog does and does not already know (house training – walking nicely on a leash – sit – come – stay – look at me – biting/nipping – aggressive/reactive behavior)

Two 30 minute sessions – $60.00 total; additional sessions are 30 minutes each – $30.00
